a collection of foreign objects: Generated Habitats

A Collection of Foreign Objects was founded in Japan by a group of Canadian artists living there at the time.  These artists saw the important connections between the artwork they were producing and the work produced by their Japanese contemporaries.

More specifically, our goals are 1) to promote young Canadian and Japanese artists to new audiences, 2) to facilitate connections, communication, and collaboration between young artists, and 3) to challenge audiences to see new things, and to enter into the unexpected.

A Collection of Foreign Objects has had four exhibitions.  With every show, membership, artwork, and location has shifted and evolved.  Generated Habitats is our most current show.
